Sometimes it's difficult to make out if there is someone on the otherside of the phone at all, i barely talk back or respond.. but maa goes on and on... if she sniffs disappointment or anxiety in my voice. The most pointless and irrelevant detail is brought up, little scraps from here and there.... which mostly end up in me saying.." Maa, stop bothering me ... not in a mood"

I remember, as a kid.. i flocked behind her all day whenever i sensed that she was upset. she would be unattentive doing her chores.. but would somehow feel my empathy.

and I always thought that my mother and I were completely different people...

thats universal i guess with mothers.....
we at times might feel that we our different from our mothers but we forget that we are a part of her body....she understands us more than we understand ourselves....

i think its a law of nature... just like gravity... or the law tat states "two objects with mass will attract until a certain distance, after which they will repel"...

.... parents and children always are destined to be like this... never be too far... but never be too close! The same voice that put us to sleep with the lullabies... now seems to disturb our sleep. How ironic!

Nice contrast!!
Wat mom feels for a daughter and wat a daughter feels for her mom is completely different.
U explained it better!!
